Kitchen & Bathroom Renovation
Renovate a shower area with new tiling, waterproofing, drainage checks and fittings to stop leaks and renew a tired wet zone.
Overview
The shower area is the most demanding part of any bathroom, with constant water, steam and soap on tile and grout. Renovation addresses the surfaces, the waterproofing beneath them and the fittings together. It suits showers with cracked tiles, failed grout, slow drainage or recurring damp.
The first step is finding out why the area is failing. We examine grout and sealant, test for hollow tiles, check the fall towards the drain and look for signs of moisture reaching neighbouring rooms. Without that diagnosis, new tiles can simply hide a problem that returns. Photographs and notes from this stage are shared with you so the findings are clear.
Depending on what is found, the work may involve stripping tiles, reinstating a waterproofing layer, re-tiling, grouting and fitting the screen, mixer or shower head. A small repair, such as regrouting, can be enough for minor wear, whereas leaks or loose tiles usually need renovation. Surface restoration is a lighter option only where the underlying structure is sound.
Outcomes depend on the state of the substrate, how well curing times are respected and the quality of drainage. Because some defects only appear once tiles come off, the scope is confirmed with you in writing and any additional findings are explained before further work proceeds. Planning around the building's working hours and water shutdown rules is part of this.
Final scope is confirmed in your written quotation after assessment.

FAQ
Common causes include failed grout or sealant and a damaged waterproofing layer. A proper assessment is needed to find the source.
If tiles are firm and there are no leaks, regrouting may be enough. We will tell you if the problem is deeper.
This is possible in many bathrooms, subject to drainage and space. Landlord and building approvals apply where relevant.
It depends on the materials used and their curing times, which we will confirm for your project.
That is outside our scope, but we can document findings in your property that may help you discuss it with building management.
