False Ceiling Installation

A false ceiling is built by fixing a metal frame below the existing slab, then fitting and finishing boards across it. The cavity above can carry AC ducts, wiring, sprinkler pipes and downlights. Drop height, bulkhead positions and lighting layout all affect the look, so we agree these in plan before work begins and mark them out on site.

Lower ceilings make a room feel smaller and can affect AC airflow, so height must be considered carefully, especially in apartments with limited floor-to-ceiling distance. Light fittings, AC grilles, access hatches and smoke detectors need allowances. We discuss practical layouts and recommend simple profiles where height is tight. Sharing the room's current height and AC layout at the first visit helps us propose a design that works.
