Overview
Skirting is the detail that makes a floor look finished, covering the perimeter gap and protecting the base of the wall. WrapRevive installs skirting boards in Dubai homes and commercial properties, matching profile, height and material to the room.
Skirting comes in many materials and profiles. MDF is popular for painted finishes, PVC and polystyrene suit damp-prone areas and quick fitting, and timber gives a traditional look. Height and profile influence the character of a room, with taller, more detailed boards suiting high ceilings and classical interiors, and slimmer ones suiting contemporary spaces. We help you choose a style that works with doors, architraves and floors.
Fitting needs careful cutting at corners. Internal corners are scribed or mitred, external corners are mitred, and uneven walls need adhesive or filler to close gaps. Fixing may be by adhesive, nails or screws depending on the wall. The skirting must cover the expansion gap of any floating floor without pinning the floor down, which is a common installation mistake.
Skirting can also be fitted as a stand-alone refresh, replacing damaged or dated boards. Painting or finishing is a separate step unless agreed in the quotation. Walls in poor condition may need repair so the skirting sits properly. We will explain the options and be clear about whether finishing, painting and any wall repairs are included.
